Staff is second to none, they are all awesome, Dr. Khawam rocks.
Thank you to the Doc and her awesome staff, they proved to me that real professionals still exist!
My wife has had a toe nail fungus on all ten toes for years from an improperly sterilized foot bath. She was under the treatment of another Podiatrist who said nothing further could be done (numerous laser as well as oral Lamasil treatments) to treat the two remaining toe nails that still had fungus as he said she was genetically susceptible to fungus If that were the case, those two infected toe nails would reinfect the treated nails and she could never be fungus free. (I like her pretty painted toe nails.)
Dr. Miller looked and said those two toe nails were being reinfected. She laser treated the infected nails and prescribed proactive treatment with common household chemicals as well as over the counter fungicides. A simple whole patient approach is working, and gives us hope. I'll update in 6 months to see if she is indeed fungus free.
Here's the update:
Her fungus persisted even after many visits with Dr. Miller. I took her to a podiatrist that works at Newport Orthopedic Institute, Dr McNair, who treated her not with lasers, but with vinegar baths, a prescription cream, and finally an oral medication. Results--she became fungus free after 10 years when she contracted it at a nail salon. Three doctors, thousands of dollars, and Dr. McNair did it!
I have been coming here to get treatment for my foot and it's always a pleasant experience. The staff is great and very helpful. The Dr. is really good and I'm glad to see improvement in my foot.
