  I visited the colonial Pennsylvania Plantation on Pirate Day. It's an excellent place to bring kids to see what a farm looks like. They have people doing reenactments of different chores and tasks that might have been done in colonial days. It's very inexpensive $10 for adults $6 for children I posted a picture of the hours so you can see what the hours are. Very convenient from Philadelphia West Chester Downingtown Delaware.

  Kids had a great time. Difficult place to bring a baby that can't walk yet though.

  Fun and educational! The staff is knowledgeable and the grounds are beautiful!

  This place was amazing. We went on a random day, no special event, and we got to explore the house, and they let the kids touch everything - even 300 year old furniture and toys. We saw a working fire with the kitchen set up the way it would have been. The guides talked about children's responsibilities and pulled water from the well. We also got to dip our own candles and play period games. We toured the barn and learned about all the animals and how they kept warm during winter (using stacked manure). Super neat. Wish we lived close enough to send the kids to summer camp.
