(September 5, 2016, 5:57 pm)Formerly the site of Surfridge, CA, a beach residential neighborhood for Hollywood elite built in 1921. In the 60's , LAX acquired the land and razed the homes, but the streets remain. It is fenced off to the public but is now used as a Preserve for the Blue Butterfly, once near extinction and not found anywhere else on earth. Best time to walk the perimeter and spot them is late summer. Free parking along Waterview Street, along the beach.
